Summer of [Design] Love

July 19, 2017

So much for the lazy hazy days of summer. There is no summer slow-down at Lisa Sherry Interieurs. Come the fall, when I reflect on "how I spent my summer vacation," I'm sure "designing" will be the my very first response. Here's a peek at five exciting projects.

#1: MAKEOVER IN MYERS PARK

Some of our favorite design projects come to us from client referrals. We now have two LSI clients on the same Myers Park street. No two LSI projects are ever alike, so refer away, without fear of imitation! Here's the family room (below) and breakfast room are from the most recent installation.

THE MORE YOU LOOK, THE MORE YOU SEE

Our busy clients wanted a breakfast room to start the day calmly and beautifully. We started from scratch. The custom banquette from Verellen is a signature piece. View the entire project now.

#2: BABY ABODES

One of the delights of my job is seeing how families evolve in spaces I help create. About 9 months ago, I was thrilled to learn that my perfect twosome Raleigh clients were soon to be three. LSI designed the entire main level of the home, and moved upstairs as part of phase two, including this serene and charming nursery.

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

We started on the ground floor with these LSI clients. I love to weave a common aesthetic through an entire home. View the project now.

#3: WIP: KITCHEN MAKEOVER

How would you like to leave for a 4-week trip to Italy and come home to an entirely new kitchen? Every inch gutted. Everything new. (It can happen. Book a flight and call LSI. ) The clock is ticking because this Lake Norman cucina is literally under construction now. It's LSI's July cliffhanger. We'll update you on the exciting kitchen grand finale in the August blog

RECIPE FOR A GREAT KITCHEN

Before our client jetted off for la dolce vita, we finalized every design spec for the new kitchen. Here are a few of the ingredients - tile, wall paper, accessory detail (mirror).

#4: LITTLE BLACK HOUSE ON THE HILL

I've always wanted to design a boutique hotel. I'm making it happen - but in my very own way. I've purchased a diamond-in-the-rough home in High Point's chic Emerywood neighborhood, and turning it into the swellest Airbnb (with a boutique hotel twist) in the area. Right now, floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall, it is thoroughly under construction. Keep up with my work in progress on Pinterest and Instagram, and stay tuned for the full drab-to-fab Big Reveal in the August blog.

 WOODBROOK DESIGN DRAWING BOARD

It's elemental! Look for natural woven dining chairs that sit like a dream, Verellen (of course) upholstery, and lighting/accessories that bring it all to life (and light). Check out the project website now. CasaWoodbrook

#5: OH BABY, OH BABY

Last but not least, a few weeks ago we celebrated LSI designer Jade in a posh baby shower at my house. Baby Declan beat the fireworks, arriving on July 3rd. LSI's loss is Declan's gain, as Jade & family begin a new adventure.

WHAT LIES AHEAD

As you can see, I'm not working on my tan this summer. So as to not lose our cool at LSI, it's clear to me something's gotta give. And it's the blog. As a rule, I post a blog twice weekly. As a seasoned rule-breaker, an embracer of change and super-busy designer, I've decided to mix it up. This summer, we're testing once-monthly blogs.

So look for a new and potentially brilliant blog just once a month this summer - and maybe beyond! And wear sunscreen.
