A CHANCE TO DESIGN FOR GOOD
For many of us, home is the North Star – the place where we feel safe, secure, and comfortable, surrounded by the people and things we love. As an interior designer with a passion for home, it weighs heavily on me that so many in our community struggle with housing insecurity and homelessness. I’ve been given a chance to do something about it, together with Furnish for Good and a group of amazing Charlotte interior designers. We need your help to make a difference. Let me explain….
FURNISHED is a friendly design competition and online auction benefiting Furnish for Good. Five Charlotte designers – myself included – will each design and fully furnish a fabulous room presented at Slate Interiors. For now, our vignette designs are top secret! They will be revealed and on display with each and every item available for auction October 10-13th only.

Furnished is a friendly design competition. But the real winner is going to be Furnish for Good and the people it serves. Furnish for Good serves individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness, poverty, and other dire circumstances through the effective reuse of quality furniture and household donations. The group’s work goes beyond simply handing out donated items. Furnish for Good transforms lives through an experience of empowerment and choice for the individuals and families it serve.

Growing up, my siblings and I were taught that a life of service and giving back was non-negotiable. If I have one, my special skill, superpower, or magic in this world, it seems to be creating beautiful interiors for the pleasure of everyday life. I believe home can transform lives.
