THE INSIDE STORY ON HIGH POINT MARKET.

"Shopping. It's a happy occupational hazard for an interior designer like me. I love it. One of the reasons clients choose Charlotte, NC based Lisa Sherry Interieurs is my team's and my passion for finding just the right items. I love curating exceptional pieces for exceptional spaces ... and for exceptional people, I'll add.

"High Point Market is the equivalent of 'Fashion Week' for the design community. The five-day Market happens twice a year and is open to credentialed design and trade pros only. Thousands of brands strut their stuff in showrooms blanketed throughout the city of High Point.

"Over time, I've developed highly tuned High Point Market shopping skills to uncover the best of the best for my discerning clients. I always check in with favorite brands like Verellen and Oly Studio to see what's fresh off the drawing board. Additionally, I carve out ample time to discover next-wave brands, like Mother Mohair. One-of-a-kind, vintage and antique showrooms are among my favorite stops. I always shop Schwung, 214 Modern Vintage and the Antique & Design Center fashionably early (often before Market officially opens) to snag the most coveted unique items.

"My team and I always return from Market with reams of ideas, inspiration and products. I can't share all that we saw, felt, learned and bought. So I'm winnowing down my Market take-aways to the six brightest stars in the universe, the very best of High Point Market. Look for these must-haves in upcoming Lisa Sherry Interieurs projects – maybe your own. We are accepting new clients. For now, read on." Lisa

VERELLEN IS MY HAPPY PLACE

#1 I could probably live in Verellen's High Point showroom. It's a sensory shopping experience and always populated with the most interesting people and products. This Market, the Micah Swivel Chair moved me. Beautiful to the eye and dressed in wool boucle, Micah is also amazingly comfortable, as much embrace as it is chair. A well deserved best of Market.

A CHANDELIER IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING

#2 Oly Studio always stands apart from the common herd. Like me, the brand is passionate about light bright neutral palettes. The showroom on High Point's Wrenn Drive is like music to my eyes. And don't miss 360 views at Oly. Overhead, I was smitten by this new chandelier, clearly a best of High Point market in this interior designer's book. Look for it in a Lisa Sherry room soon.

A MUST-HAVE TWINSET

#3 No one does color like my dear friend Carol Gregg, the self-proclaimed "chief hen" at her furniture company Red Egg. Neutrals are colors too, and Carol is the mistress of clear coated natural rattan and other sustainable materials. I love Red Egg's Compass Chair and ottoman. It turned my head at High Point Market.

THIS COFFEE TABLE IS A MOVEABLE FEAST

#4 I love every little thing about this Clubcu coffee table, a best of High Point Market. It's large scaled but low to the ground. The base is perfectly square and topped with a L-shaped appendage that can be positioned as desired for cocktails, movie night or morning lattes.

MY WICKER WAYS

#5 Time tested and sustainable, wicker furniture is enjoying a revival. I snagged this chair during High Point Market at Woven.I love the juxtaposition of old-fashioned tightly knotted wicker expressed in a midcentury modern form. Look for this stylish, comfy cantilevered chair in a Lisa Sherry Interieurs home soon. It's the best!

THE MOTHER OF ALL MOHAIR

#6 Mother Mohair is a tactile experience, especially underfoot. Ethically and sustainably resourced, mohair rugs are a great way to add texture and warmth to a space. For my best of High Point Market pick, I'm selecting the entire showroom. I cannot narrow the field to just one item! Look for rugs like these (and more) at an upcoming Lisa Sherry Interieurs studio event. More to come!
