SOME IDENTICAL TWINS SHARE MORE THAN DNA: THEY SHARE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER.
AUGUST, 13, 2025 | CHARLOTTE, NC
Some design stories begin with an empty room. This one began with a familiar face. For Lisa Sherry, designing for the identical twin of a former client was a study in parallels and contrasts. The resemblance was uncanny – same smile, same tilt of the head. But personality, preferences and daily rituals? Entirely her own.
The home is a new-construction townhome in Charlotte, North Carolina, spanning 4,300 square feet over three stories. It’s a modern canvas with generous proportions – ready to be shaped into a personal refuge. Here's how Lisa describes the design transformation...
DESIGN DISCOVERY
The interior design process began, as it always does at Lisa Sherry Interieurs, in the Discovery phase – a deep dive into how a client truly wants to live. I arrive with a measuring tape, yes, but also curiosity. I listen for the unspoken: the morning routines, the textures that soothe, the spaces where the day should slow.
With this sister, one truth emerged early: her home had to be a refuge from allergens. No feathers. No down. No sneeze-inducing fibers. At first blush, the opposite of the organic, touch-me materials and textures I often lean into. But design, when done well, bends beautifully around a client’s needs. Belgian linen – a perennial LSI favorite – became a hero material, naturally hypoallergenic and timeless. The search for other health-conscious, high-design materials became a treasure hunt, resulting in a home where every surface is safe, sensual and stunning.

The Living Room
The living room is an exercise in openness – connected to the kitchen and layered with texture. A Verellen sectional in creamy Belgian linen invites sprawling conversations and afternoon naps. At its center, a waterfall gesso coffee table edged in brass adds sculptural presence. Vintage textile art hangs framed behind glass – a nod to heritage, protected yet visible. In this living room, daylight and conversation are constant companions.
The Dining Room
This dining space is more than a room – it’s the social heart of the home. The oval-top pedestal table from Mr. Brown London encourages guests to lean in, pass platters and trade stories. Fully upholstered armchairs embrace diners in comfort. Even on quiet nights, a bottle of wine and a simple meal feel elevated here.
The Primary Bedroom
Retreat, cocoon, exhale. The primary suite is the one place the world cannot reach. A king-size peninsula bed, swathed in linen, commands attention while offering comfort. Symmetry rules – balanced bedsides, paired lamps – yet soft curves appear in a swivel chair, a stone table and the gentle arch of a mirror. Mornings stretch long; evenings arrive gently.
The Spaces Between
The soul of a home often resides in its quieter corners. A transitional hallway – anchored by a custom bench, petite table and slender runner – becomes a moment of pause. This is the LSI philosophy: beauty isn’t reserved for grand gestures; it’s infused into every turn, every surface, every texture under your fingertips.
Life, Curated This Lisa Sherry Interieurs home proves that clean, modern design can feel warm, sensual and deeply personal – even when materials are guided by health sensitivities. Every room invites touch, conversation and living fully in the moment. Step inside and you feel it immediately: this is more than a house. This is a life, curated.
